This application, Minimize everything except File Explorer, can be used to configure your application windows, so the taskbar no longer shows them all. The minimized windows do have their icons in the tray area, however, so if you want to bring back a minimized window, you can do that manually by clicking the tray icon. This application is light on system resources, and can run right from the USB drive so it can be carried from one computer to the other. Don’t hesitate to give it a try, it’s free for personal and commercial use. Lanoste2017-05-17 05:48 Until you give these apps a go, you really don’t know what you are missing. I like being able to cary it with me to a differnt computer, however just as soon as I start any app, the main window goes to the tray. This seems like an easy thing to resolve. Thanks for the suggestions folks. Mathil2017-05-15 04:41 I gave the application a go on a newer Win10 PC & was able to get it to minimize a window without a hitch. It was pretty straightforward to use. I can see myself using this on an Ubuntu laptop for short periods of time. darek2017-05-14 05:52 Great idea but for me it works only in explorer (I mean windowless). When I minimize other applications and I have open another one (my example: word) and I close the explorer then the minimized application returns (I have windows in tray). Andrian2017-05-14 06:02 WOW, this is fantastic! Thanks so much. Michal2017-05-11 03:43 Very useful app. I like the option to minimize all open windows except the selected one in the tray, quick and easy action. I use it in combination with Schowaltz, it is a miracle! hp17-5-27-12822017-05-11 03:43 Works great. oscar2017-05-10 08:37 Amazing idea. thatone2017-05-10 08:09 Great. I’m running windows 10 and every time I’m done working, some programs go straight to the taskbar, and the button to minimize them to the tray isn’t shown anymore. I tried everything and I couldn’t solve this issue. 7ef3115324
ArtTray With Key
ArtTray is a simple utility that allows you to minimize windows to the system tray, without having to configure anything. A special feature of this application is that it will minimize every window, including those hidden to the taskbar and customize the contents of the tray area to keep it to the extent possible. This also means that the system icons will not be grouped in the tray area, they will all be easily identifiable, either from the application’s icon, or from the little shortcut added in Startup folder. This application does not require installation. You can use a thumb drive to transport it to other PCs in order to minimize them all at once, or download the executable to minimize them individually. ArtTray is very lightweight, without any features or configuration options. It does however have the option to configure which application windows should be minimized to the tray area, and has an integration option with Windows 7, which will let the application minimize all windows to the tray area on launch. This article shows how to solve an issue of not being able to minimize a window to the tray area in Windows 7. Normally, every application that can be minimized to the tray area automatically does so, but Windows 7 comes with a feature that automatically makes every application in the tray area play a different sound to let users know that the application is running. Microsoft’s own Calculator application is one of the most common examples. Windows 7 users have turned off this feature because it’s a little annoying and unexpected. Using a method that doesn’t require any system changes, you can easily restart your calculator application to minimize to the tray area instead, without having to worry about the sound or the system itself. How To Fix: In order to solve this problem, you just need to: 1) start Calculator, and touch the minimize button on the title bar, and it will minimize to the system tray If you always want the calculator to minimize to the tray area, you can place a shortcut to start Calculator in the Start menu, or in the Startup folder, so that it doesn’t require any additional configuration to start it at a given time.
